Our philosophy

Every experience carries a hope. Maybe this will become one of my favorite things.

Most of the time it doesn’t. Once in a while it does, and you carry it for years. Faves exists for those. This is what we believe about them.

Memory

The internet remembers everything… except what mattered.

Every feed keeps a perfect record of what you watched, played and streamed. None of them can tell you which of those stayed with you. That’s the part we want to keep.

Today’s internetFaves
Look at me.Look what I found.
What’s popular?What’s unforgettable?
What did you consume? What stayed with you?

Ranking

Ratings tell you what was good. Rankings reveal who you are.

Five stars says something was good. Putting it at number one, above other things you love, says something about you. So Faves asks for an order, not a score, and lets the order change as you do.

People

Personal first. Social second.

Faves has to be worth opening when nobody else is on it. Your lists, your order, your reasons. If it only worked with an audience, it would turn into another place to perform.

The people come second, and they’re chosen: friends whose taste you trust, not a crowd or a feed tuned to keep you scrolling. A recommendation means more when you know whose list it came from.

Depth

Start where taste runs deepest.

A game is never one fave. It’s the bosses, the levels, the characters, the soundtrack, the speedruns, the moment you finally got it. We go deep on one world before moving to the next, because that’s where taste actually lives.

We’re all searching for the next thing we’ll never forget.

Faves is where we remember it when we find it.
